What is your favorite part about makeup and beauty products?

My favorite part about makeup is definitely color. Seriously, I never imagined there to be so many shades of eyeshadow, foundations, lipsticks, nail polish. Companies keep coming out with more and more each year. Of course there are your set colors for the seasons, but then every so often, a new color is created! I usually try to collect make up in different colors, especially eyeshadow and nail polish. I think I have a pretty good range of colors between the two. Lipsticks are not really my type of thing, I very seldom wear it, so I don't have many shades of that. I'm really loving blushes and would love to be able to get more colors!

Packaging is probably my second favorite thing, but we will talk about that on a different day:)

Update on MABB beauty questions

Hello!
When we started the Weekly Beauty Question, we intended for it to be a segment on our blogs that would be a unique way to connect with our readers and also help us get to know our fellow group members better. However, since we also have other commitments in addition to blogging, we have reached the decision that we will be answering the MABB beauty questions on a bi-weekly basis for the time being.
Since we always strive to provide you with the best possible content, we feel that by doing the questions bi-weekly we will be able to select more interesting questions and have plenty of time to prepare answers that we know you will just love to read!

How do you feel about polish trends like nail art, crackle, "fish egg" manis, etc?
I think it's pretty unique! Never in a million years could I ever come up with the idea of water marble nails. I personally haven't tried anything except for the crackle nail polish and nail tattoos (the easy stuff). I applaud the people who can do nail art and the like. I've attempted, but it never turns out the way I want. I have to admit, I've never even tried nail stamping yet! (wah wah wah)

What has been your biggest blogging challenge thus far?

One of my biggest blogging challenge is trying to find time to blog . I'm currently working full time, and have about a 3 hour commute (one and a half hours each way). So when I'm gone, that's atleast 11 hours of my day right there! Then, there's trying to catch up on sleep, clean, chores, cook, grocery shop, coupon, find time with hubby...the list goes on.

Blogging requires alot of time. You have to email, take pictures the right way, do research, try out products, and then there's the actual blogging part. So it does take alot of time, and it's hard when you don't have alot of it throughout the day. There have been many instances where I just felt like "well, maybe I need to stop, or take a break".

To overcome this challenge, I had to ask myself "Do you really want to do this? Is it worth it?" Once I found the answer to that, I was able to make some time for something that I do enjoy doing. I may not be able to blog as much as I'd like to now, but maybe someday. ^.^

What are your favorite big name nail polish brands? 

 I like OPI for their different collections and color choices available. I feel like they always have a new collection every month.  I also like Julep for formula and cute bottle shape. They're so easy to organize and stack together and don't take up alot of space.

How old were you when you got into makeup?
I was about 24 when I finally got into make up. It might be been because it was never really a big thing in my household. Growing up, I don't ever recall a time when I saw my mom apply make up (except for the occasional lipstick). Now that I'm into makeup, I don't think I'll ever go back without it!

What was your worst makeup "don't" that you thought looked amazing at the time?

It's gotta be not blending eyeshadow together... I remember when I first started wearing makeup, I would just slap on a single bright color -- blue, pink, orange -- you name it. Harsh lines didn't even occur to me. I just thought I was so cool... until I discovered the power of blending! Hey, you learn and move on right?

What is your first "beauty" related memory?
My hubby and I were visiting a buddy of ours in a different state, we went to the Houston Galleria to hang out before our flight. They're walking around on their own, and I was too. A very convincing gentleman stopped me and asked to try some eyeshadow on me. Fine... what could it hurt. He talked about the benefits of mineral make up, did a fantastic job on my eyes, and that was the start of me getting hooked on eyeshadow! Soon after, I got contacts so I could actually see my eye make up. I posted the full story here along with the items that I purchased that day. Can you guess what brand of mineral make up it is?

What inspired you to start your blog?

Alot of inspiration originally came from You Tube beauty gurus. When I first started, I tried to do beauty looks with what little make up I had. Mind you, I started using make up when I was 25! I soon came to realize I was not too good at doing make up looks. It was a trial and error kind of thing, and eventually my blog became about beauty reviews and posting about my thrifty finds. It's all about finding what you love to do and making it your own.
