Review: Physician's Formula Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio for brown eyes

What is it?
  • Unique eyeliner trio features three highly pigmented super-smooth eye enhancing shades.
  • Waterproof formula glides on effortlessly while providing eye enhancing definition and inner eye rim intensity.

Retail Price: $10.95

Where to buy: Most mass retailers and drugstores.

My thoughts and experience:
There were three colors in this pack - espresso, purple, and black. The packaging is very informative and has lots of tips and tricks on which color to use for what mood or how to apply/blend the eyeliners. The liners are simple - it has a cap that covers it. I found it odd that you couldn't sharpen the eyeliner, nor was it retractable. I've had to roll it around on a piece of tissue paper to get it "sharpened". So literally, what you see on the tip is what you get!

Onto the colors -  although the colors are not "highly pigmented" as claimed, espresso was the most pigmented of them all. All three colors made my brown eyes "pop" and matched them very well. I've noticed the few times that I've worn the eyeliners, it smudged, almost right away. I found that the colors stayed on for a good 4-6 hours (with primer), so that's one good thing about it, I guess.

In conclusion, I think these are a decent if you are looking for something to smudge or mix with your eyeshadows (kind of like the NYX jumbo pencils). I don't think I will repurchase them in the future, because of the inconvenience of how the eyeliners were made and packaged.

Review: Smashbox Limitless Beauty Kit

What is it?
"You asked for stay-put products, we’re delivering in one must-have kit. It’s all you’ll need to stay chic from dawn till dusk—no reapplying necessary. Free step-by-step guide."

Retail Price: $39.00

Where to buy: www.smashbox.com

My thoughts and experience:
Photo Finish foundation primer:
This stuff is amazing! All you need is a small pea size amount, less is more in this case. Once I apply the primer on my clean face, I can immediately feel the smoothness and velvety feeling upon touch. It created an invisible layer, and it helped my foundation stay on much longer! I usually have to blot a couple of times a day, but with the primer, I blot once during a whole work shift (usually 8+ hours). It makes my skin appear smoother and also make up application easier. This is definitely something I will use over and over!

Limitless Beauty Eye Shadow Palette & Brush:
I like the different neutral colors offered in this palette. To me, it seems like I could do more night looks than I would with day looks - alot of neutral and smokey eyes, that's for sure. The eyeshadows stayed on without creasing into each other for about 4 hours without primer and over 10 hours with a primer. I mainly used the brush to apply shadow to upper and lower lash lines only because it was such a little brush.

Left to Right -
Matte vanilla: used on brow bone for highlight, color is not pigmented, very light and barely visible.
Rose Copper: used on lid, shimmery and has a metallic effect, pigmented, has slight fall out.
Purple Taupe: used on outer corner, upper and lower lash line, has a slight shimmer, very pigmented.
Champagne: used on lid, shimmery and has a metallic effect, pigmented, has slight fall out.
Matte brown: used on outer corner, upper and lower lash line, matte, very pigmented.

Limitless Eye Liner in Java:
The eyeliner is a smooth, coffee brown color. It goes very well with my brown eyes (with or without eyeshadow). I love that it doesn't smudge and can easily stay on well over 8 hours.

Blush Rush in Everlasting:
A soft, happy pink color. It's a buildable blush color that is easy to blend with a brush. It doesn't look cakey at all and looks very natural. This color is suited for people with light to medium complexions, as it is not very pigmented.

Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in 'Round-the-Clock:
A light pink lip gloss. The wand applicator makes it easy to apply on lips. The formula is not thick, but it is definitely sticky and glossy. I think this is more suited for people with light complexion, as the color doesn't really show up on my lips very much. This goes very well with the palette that is included in the set. It stays on for a good 6 hours without eating/drinking.

Tada!!~
I used all of these products included in the beauty kit to finish this look. I also used foundation, eye primer, and mascara that was not included.

Review: Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum

Remember last month when I mentioned the Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum? Well, I've tested it for 4 weeks, and here are my thoughts.

What is it?
  • High-tech formula visibly enhances natural lash growth while providing the instant definition of a liquid eyeliner, in one easy step.
  • Lash boosting complex targets the root of lashes where it is most effective in providing nutrients associated with growing long, thick lashes.
via Physicians Formula website

Retail Price: $10.95

My Thoughts:
I was very skeptical when I bought this product, because of the price, but I saw the "try me free" sign, so I thought... why not? I used this product every single day for four weeks straight, and I am impressed it! The packaging is very informative, which includes before and after pictures. The eyeliner is silver and looks really sleek. The brush part is pointed and easy to work with; it is more of a soft brush than a felt pen. I was able to draw a winged out line with ease. I'm a contact lens wearer, and it does not bother my eyes, or make them itch at all. However, the brush sort of tickles my lids while applying.  You need to apply  it ABOVE your lashes, not under it. It stays on all day, without smudging or smearing (tested it without a primer on my super oily lids). I wear it for over 8 hours a day, and at the end of the day, it looks the same as it did when I first applied it. After wearing winged liquid eyeliner for a month, I am extremely satisfied with it. I do see longer and curlier lashes - not so much in volume, but in length. It is available in 3 shades, as well as a clear color. I think Physicians Formula did a wonderful job with this one, as it targets the root of the lashes. During this one month, I did not wear any other lash growing product, just this. Here's some pictures from before, after two weeks, and after four weeks.

Would I recommend this?
Yes, It works! I think I've actually gotten better at applying liquid eyeliner too :] I'm going to be picking up the clear one to wear at night time.

Think you will give it a try?

Review: NYX felt tip liner in Extreme Black

What is it?
"Felt tip pen eye liner releases the perfect amount of color for precise and dramatic lining. The long-lasting  and smudge-proof liner holds up to its name. "The One Day Tattoo" Won't smear. Waterproof." - NYX website

Retail price: $8

My Thoughts:
The packaging is clear and easy to read. This is the first time I've ever tried a liquid eyeliner, and I would say that it is very newbie friendly. It feels like I am taking a marker and lining my eyes with it. The tip is so pointy that it makes it easy to do thin lines, or create a thicker line. It doesn't feel like a brush, but more like a marker. I purchased the "Extreme black" color, and it really is. It glides on very smoothly; I like to make short strokes when I am applying it. It's very pigmented, long lasting, and will not smudge or smear throughout the day. At the end of the day, it looked the same way as it did when I applied it. Overall, I think this is a steal!

Would I recommend it?
Yes, to both newbie and expert liquid eyeliner users :]
