Tutorial: Easy brown eyes look

It's been a while since I've done one of these tutorial looks. This one is just a very simple brown eye looks. You can substitute the colors to what you have to create the same look. I find that this look really makes my brown eyes POP, and it's a quick and easy to do look for everyday wear.

1. Prime your lids. Priming your lids before eyeshadow application makes the eyeshadow stay crease free, and not smudge. This is the most important step for me, because I have really oily eyelids!

2. Apply a light brown color (similar to your skin tone) all over your lid. I used Urban Decay's Suspect.

3. Apply a darker brown color to the corners of your lid up to half way, and a little bit above your crease area. I used Orglamix's Chai.

4. Apply a highlighter color from your crease to your brow bone, something that is very sheer. I used Ulta's baked eyeshadow in Taken.

5. Apply a dark brown eyeliner above your eye, and also on the lower waterline. I only went 2/3 of the way because I have small eyes and did not want to make them look even smaller. I used Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil liner in Crash.

6. Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used Revitalash Mascara.

I "depotted" my UDPP!

I was so bummed out when I thought I was out of my favorite primer potion... without this, I can't wear any eyeshadow (darn you oily lids!)... Think that your Urban Decay Primer Potion is out? Think again! I "depotted" it the other day, here's how:

You will need:
Sharp knife
Small jar with lid [found at beauty supply store]
Your "finished" UDPP
Mitten or sturdy cloth

Remove the wand from the UDPP, and using a sharp knife, cut it in the center. You may need a little elbow grease to do this, just BE CAREFUL because you are handling a sharp object! I used a mitten to hold down one side while I was sawing it in half. It only took about a minute to saw it in half.

Look at how much product there is on the inside. For some reason, the way the wands are made, it won't scoop that part of the tube. Use your wand and scoop/scrap the primer onto the jar.

Got about a couple of weeks, maybe even months worth of product on here!!

This is how it looks when it's completely gone.

So don't throw it away when you think you are out, depot it!!
I use a clean Q-tip to apply this each time, it helps keep it clean longer. I hope this was helpful :]

DIY flower clip/brooch

Christmas is so near, just a couple more days! I wanted to share a do-it-yourself tutorial on how to make this poinsettia clip/brooch. I apologize that this is SO last minute. In hopes that maybe some of you may be doing some last minute Christmas shopping, you could pick up some of the items along your way. Although you could use any silk flower, the poinsettias will definitely add a bit of festivities to your look. Enjoy~

Materials needed: All these can be purchased at a craft store.

• Poinsettia flower [silk]
• Black felt
• Hair clips 
• Scissors
• Hot glue or craft glue

Step 1: Detach flower from stem. Usually you can pull it out, if not, cut it.

Step 2: Cut a circle on the black felt to fit the bottom of the flower.

Step 3: Cut 2 small incisions in the middle of the circle felt. Place hair clip inside, like shown. 

Step 4: Use the hot glue [be careful!] or craft glue to secure the hair clip to the felt.

Step 5: Apply glue to the back side of felt and clip.

Step 6: Carefully and gently place the glued side of felt to the bottom side of the flower, and let dry.

VIOLA!

Tropical eyeshadow look with Urban Decay Book of Shadows III

I purchased the Urban Decay Book of Shadows III a couple of weeks back, and I want to share with you a fun tropical look that I did using the palette. If you like the shimmers and glitters, then, definitely give this a try! I will be doing swatches for you guys soon.

I used 3 colors for this fun eye look - Maui Wowie (glimmery light gold), Kush (glimmery light green), and Haught (glimmery blue green).

1. Apply the Urban Decay Primer Potion all over eyelids, don't forget under your eyes too.
2. Apply Maui Wowie on the inner 1/3 of eyelid.
3. Apply Haught on outer 1/3 of eyelid. I made it darker around the outer edges to intensify it and make it look more dramatic.
4. Apply Kush to middle of the eyelid, and blend colors.
5. Using a flat angled eyeliner brush, apply Haught to the outer part of the upper and lower water line.
6. Apply Maui Wowie to the inner half of the lower waterline.
