Happy Birthday Birchbox - September box

Hi hi ^.^
My September Birchbox came in the mail, and I wanted to share it with you all. They are celebrating their 1 year birthday, so happy birthday Birchbox!!

In this box, I received:
  • blinc mascara .02 oz (interesting...)
  • Incoco nail polish applique (can't wait to try this!)
  • Jouer lip enchancer .07 oz (always need lippies.)
  • LIV GRN Natural eau de parfum sampler (The fragrance smells AMAZING. It's so clean and fresh, and I like the fact that it is "eco-friendly". I think I may actually want to go pick this up sometime.)
  • Lash Card (It's supposed to prevent mascara smudging and clumping, which I personally think is kinda useless for me, since I don't have that issue at all.)
  • Birchbox Friendship bracelet (I'm wearing the friendship bracelet already. It's a little long, so I tied a little bow on the other end.)

I'm curious as to whether you guys received the same items this time, since it is comprised of their favorite items.

I'm not completely impressed with this box, and was maybe expecting something bigger since it is their one year birthday. Although I think this is an interesting concept, I think this will be my last month to subscribe to Birchbox... for now, atleast. See my other Birchboxes here

What did you think about this month's box? Do you guys have any suggestions for other beauty sample boxes that you would recommend?
Thanks for reading and talk to you all next time! Have a great weekend:]

Birchbox: August 2011

The August 2011 Birchbox came in the mail the other day! However, I was not expecting it at all. I had ordered it for my sister, but there was some shipping difficulties and it came to me instead. My sister was really sweet about letting me open up the box to take pictures of what was inside. I mentioned it here last month, if you are not familiar with Birchbox.

This August box contains:
  • blinc mascara - 4g
  • Befine night cream - 0.5 fl
  • Befine single serve exfoliating cleanser .34 fl
  • Lifttab Lift & Fix high potency solution
  • Kate Spade New York Twirl fragrance - .05 fl oz
  • Twistband hair tie

Have you received yours yet? What did you get?

I am actually really excited to try this other sample company called Eco-Emi. I've signed up to be on the waiting list, but hopefully soon, I will be able to get a box!

    My first Birchbox (July 2011)

Birchbox has been buzzing around the online make-up community, so of course, it got my attention too. If you're not familiar with Birchbox, they offer hand-picked new deluxe samples each month and deliver it to your door. It costs $10 per month, which also includes shipping.

     Presentation is everything.

The products are always different each month- it may be a good way to test out and try new things (which I am all for!).

Anyway, this one was my first Birchbox. My sister actually purchased this for my birthday (thanks sis!).

This July box is actually curated by fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley. I'm not sure if the contents are different from than others, because I have heard in the previous boxes that they were customized and may differ from others.

Here's what I found in my box:
Ahava Mineral hand cream - 25ml
philosophy purity made simple one-step facial cleanser - 30mk
    Redken shine flash - 71ml
    Zoya nail polish - Shay
Extra Kind Almond & Apricot snack bar

The Zoya nail polish alone is $8!

Yay! Loyalty rewards for rating products ^.^

I'm excited to try and play with them all ^.^ It reminds me of my Beautyfix box, well, sort of.

    Have you heard about Birchbox?

Review: Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water

     [via]

    What is it?
A soothing, therapeutic, aromatic mist for all skin types.
Neroli, the extract of bitter orange blossom, is known for its ability to soothe and hydrate the skin while simultaneously refreshing and relaxing the mind. Rehydrating Neroli Water from Kerstin Florian brings you a delightful mist that provides instant indulgent therapeutic benefits with just a couple clicks of the spritzer. Perfect for use on the face or body, to set makeup, soothe irritation, boost dehydrated areas, or provide a quick pick-me-up, this formula is sure to give you what you need. Feel anxiety melt away and dull skin transform in an uplifting and simple way.

Retail price: $35 for 3.4fl oz.

    Where to buy: dermstore.com, kerstinflorianusa.com, Amazon.com

    My thoughts and experience:
I received this deluxe sample sized item (1 fl oz) in my Beautyfix package. It is available in a spritzer bottle, which I find so convenient (hey, save some money on the cotton balls too!) Although the bottle that I received says "Aromatherapy Neroli Water", I have contacted Kerstin Florian, and they did confirm that the name has been changed to "Rehydrating Neroli Water".

Onto the product, let me just say that this product smells AMAZING! It has a very light, misty floral scent, almost like a honeysuckle. After I wash my face, I spritz it on as a toner, then apply my moisturizer. I've also used it as a makeup setting spray after applying mineral foundation. It's great for my dry skin because it is super hydrating. You can also use it as a body mist after you shower, too!
It's a little out of my budget range, however, it is well worth it! The little bottle lasted for a good amount of time.
