Swatches: Julep - Ashley, Kylie, & Leah

My work schedule has been kicking my butt lately, so I apologize for the lack of posts recently. I finally get a three day weekend, which will be spent being lazy and do nothing, lol just kidding :P I'll try to catch up on blogging and getting some house work done. 

In the mean time, check out these swatches of some recently acquired Julep nail polish ^.^

Ashley is a sunset orange with metallic micro shimmer. 

Kylie is a sultry violet magnetic nail polish. It was a first time for me to use magnetic nail polish, and the experience was pretty fun! I did it wrong the first time by applying too thin of a coat. But got it right the second time :)

Leah is a vivid and refreshing grass green with a hint of shimmer.

Did you get any new Julep nail colors recently? I really like how most of the colors are so unique! More to come later. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!

I was super excited when I read in my email that Julep is bringing a magnetic nail polish to the monthly box! I've been oogling the China Glaze Magnetix set, so I am super excited to try Kylie. I always end up picking the It Girl boxes because it offers 3 nail polishes, instead of the usual 2 nail polish and another item. I love that I am able to look through the different boxes and change it if I wanted to.

Hello lovelies!

Just wanted to post a quick swatch of my Julep April box - Parker and Annette. The reason I picked this box was for that tangerine color... it yells "Spring!".

Parker - golden tangerine creme (love it!)

 Annette - subtle dove grey creme (this nail polish was extremely thick)

On a side note, I am definitely enjoying this weather and can't wait to get my vegetable garden started! First time gardener here:]

Julep April Bombshell box

 Hi babes!

Just wanted to share what I received in my Julep April box. I opted for the Bombshell box because of that awesome orange color, I was tired of seeing the red colors in the other boxes. I really like the option to change to a different box if you are not liking what you see.

Yay! It's March already, the time just seem to fly by. My Julep box came in the mail yesterday. I'm always excited to get packages in the mail, it feels like Christmas. I knew which colors were coming because I changed my preference to "It Girl" instead of "American Beauty". I wanted the purple!

I've been meaning to post this sooner, but I wanted to swatch the nail polishes on the same post too. So here it is, my February Julep Maven box. 

My handpicked box style was called Boho Glam, it included:

• Julep Essential cuticle oil
• Marisa nail polish - dark, rich cobalt blue with hint of shimmer
• Oscar nail polish - gold glitter
• Chocolate 

 

I really love Marisa, I don't have any other colors like it. The light shimmer made it perfect!

Oscar was fun and chic. This is three coats of it here. You can wear this alone, or over another nail polish.

Swatches: Julep - Leighton & Demi

Hi beauties!
I thought I'd do a swatch for the nail polishes that I received in my Julep intro box in December~

First up is Leighton, a pure liquid silver color.

Next up, we have Demi. This color reminds me of the show True Blood on HBO. It's definitely my new favorite red/burgundy.

Mini review:

Julep nail polish have such a unique bottle, they stand tall. It has very soft bristles which hold alot of nail polish; at times, I found it to be dripping quickly onto my nails. Both nail polish went on smoothly, and brush was easy to glide. I wore it for over 4 days before I saw my first chip (with base coat, without a top coat).  Both colors are very opaque with just one coat. Drying time is moderate.

DIY glitter nails

This idea came from a little card on my Julep box last month. It's a really easy DIY for some fun glitter nails.

You will need:

• Base coat
• Loose glitter of your choice (craft shops such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby will have some)
• Top coat

1. On clean nails, apply base coat. Do this one nail at a time.

2. Immediately pour or sprinkle loose glitter onto nail before base coat dries. You can reuse the excess glitter, I poured it back into the little jar.

3. Repeat on all fingers.

4. Place your hand under low running faucet to remove excess glitter.

5. Apply top coat and let dry.

Viola!~ fun and easy peasy.
