Review: Almay Moisturizing eye make up remover pads

My thoughts and experience:
I've been needing another eye make up remover, so when CVS has a sale on these, I decided to give it a try. Almay moisturizing eye make up remover pads come in a bottle of 80 pre-soaked pads, which makes them really convenient if you're traveling. They're completely fragrant free and hypoallergenic. The pads have a very greasy and oily feel to them. I'm not sure if this is the moisturizing property of it(?)

I only use them at night because I would definitely have to wash off the oily residue left behind. I do find that oil based eye make up removers take off makeup easier and are more gentle on the eyes. I had no issues with these on my eyes as a contact lens wearer. I use one pad to remove eye make up on both eyes. It takes off eyeshadow, water proof mascara and eyeliner too with ease.

Overall, I think it does an amazing job removing make up with ease. I really wish it wasn't so oily. If you're looking for something to take off eye make up at the end of the day, I would recommend these. They're so cheap too! I bought the oil free ones too, I can't wait to try them out.

Review: Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

What is it?
"Our Cleansing Facial Wipes refresh and nourish your skin plus remove waterproof mascara. Our wipes contain a perfect blend of our purest possible skin loving ingredients with an added vitamin."

Retail Price: Starting at $4.99 for 25 wipes.

Where to buy:  Most drugstores and mass market retailers.

My thoughts and experience:
These Simple cleansing facial wipes come in a package of 25 wipes. They are stored in a resealable bag with an adhesive flap to help maintain moisture of the wipes. I've been using them a couple of times, and I am quite pleased with them. They do an excellent job removing all kinds of make up with one wipe.
Some of my favorite things about these wipes:
  • Adhesive flap stays closed to help keep wipes fresh.
  • Alcohol free, no perfume, no dyes.
  • Gentle on sensitive and dry skin.
  • Face feels clean and refreshed, I don't feel the need to wash my face.
  • Safe on eyes (even contact lens users like myself).
  • Removes foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, blush, lipstick with one wipe.
I would recommend these to people with sensitive skin or normal to oily skin types.  I have very dry cheeks, and have noticed some dry spots after using the wipes.

Have you tried any of the Simple Skincare products? Do you use facial wipes to remove your make up at the end of the day?

Review: Maybelline Expert Eyes moisturizing eye make up remover

What is it?
Tough on stubborn makeup but ultra gentle on eyes. Removes waterproof mascara and eye makeup.
    Retail Price: Starting at $4.49

Where to buy:  Most retailers and drugstores nationwide

    My thoughts and experience:
I've been using this eye make up remover for the past few weeks now. I mainly used it at the end of the day, right before I go to bed. It removes eyeshadow and mascara effortlessly. However, I seem to have a harder time with the eyeliners. I find that it leaves an oily residue, which may be the "moisturizing" quality of this product. It is something that eventually goes away, because my eye lids aren't oily in the morning.

I'm a contact lens wearer, and did not find this to bother or irritate my eyes at all. I would recommend that you use this at the end of the day. It's a great price for what it can do!

Here is a before and after picture:

Have you guys tried this eye make up remover before? Do you have a favorite?

Review: Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure oil free detoxifying wet cleansing towelettes

    What is it?
Detoxifying wet cleansing towelettes that instantly remove make-up, even mascara. With purifying skin nutrients, gently detoxify, leaving skin deeply clean and pure.

    Retail Price: $4.99

    Where to buy: Most retailers

    My thoughts and experience:
I've already gone through almost two packs of this stuff before I decided to do this review. The packaging holds the towelettes together in a convenient pack. The moisture is sealed in by a clear sticker, which adheres to the package pretty well.

Each towelette is moist, even down to the very last one. I sometimes find that I pull two pieces of towelettes out at a time, maybe it is the way it is stored in there? I always end up placing it back in there for another use.

The towelettes do a wonderful job removing face and eye make up (including mascara). It seems to struggle with eyeliners though. It has a very light pleasant scent to it and I find that it cleanses well and leaves my skin feeling hydrated.  It is safe around the eyes; I wear contacts and they do not bother them at all. At the end of the day, I will still use a face cleanser - I love the clean feeling I get from doing so.

This is a great product for people who are traveling or on-the-go. I would definitely recommend this item.

Review: Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

    What is it?
"Yes To Cucumbers Natural Glow Facial Towelettes gently remove dirt, sweat and makeup without the need to rinse! It's an exfoliant, detoxifyer and rejuvenater all wrapped up in one on-the-go biodegradable wipe, keeping you free and fresh-faced." - Yes to Carrots website

Price and where to buy: $5.99, yestocarrots.com and Walgreens

My thoughts: Kudos on the easy to open and close flap that kept my towelettes moist throughout the one and a half months that I used this. I waited until I finished the last towelette before I did this review - I wanted to see if the last one will stay moist - and it did! It is a cloth-like towel that is used to gently cleanse, remove make up, and keep the skin nourished. I find it to be very easy to use, just popped the lid open, grabbed a towelette, closed lid, wiped face, and I'm good. I do not notice any scent to it. It removes my face makeup very well. It also does a good job removing any eyeshadow, but it does not remove mascara or eyeliner (I don't think it was designed for this anyway). It did not irritate my eyes when I used it to remove my eyeshadow. It works well with my dry skin - no dry patches after using these. However, I do feel a very slight burning sensation on the face afterwards. I'm not exactly sure what that is, it lasts for about 30 seconds or so. These towelettes are easy to use, great for travelers, and for people on the go - don't even have to wash or rinse my face (I always wash it before I sleep though).

    Packaging: 10 out of 10
Ease of use: 10 out of 10
    Product: 9 out of 10
    Price: 10 out of 10

Have you tried these towelettes before? What are your thoughts on them?
