Review: Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray

My thoughts and experience:
I received this in my Beautyfix Summer 2012 box and I have been using it for some time now. Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray is a great alternative to make up primers. Just shake the bottle, and spritz a light mist after you apply your make up. I usually do 3-4 sprays all over my face. I've worn it on bare skin and over make up. It helps control some of the oily parts of my face, so that my make up last longer. Don't get me wrong, I still blot my nose throughout the day, just not as often. It helps make up stay in place for atleast 8 hours. If you use powder or mineral foundation (like me), it helps to set it so it doesn't look cakey. I can easily tell the difference without it!
The only downside is the smell to it, it has a strong scent. I got used to it after a while, but I still find myself trying to hold my nose from taking a whiff of it after spraying.

Overall, this is a great product, and I would definitely repurchase it! It's a miracle in a bottle.

Review: Reviva Labs Make Up Primer

What is it?
Reviva Labs Makeup Primer fills in lines, conceals pores and controls excess oil. Reviva Labs Makeup Primer helps skin instantly look and feel smoothe and silky. Reviva Labs Makeup Primer helps makeup foundation last longer. Reviva Labs Makeup Primer contains CoQ10 which adds protective antioxidant action.

Retail Price:$19.50 for 1 oz.

Where to buy:  www.revivalabs.com

My thoughts and experience:
This has a very simple package, it's a glass bottle with an easy to use pump. I have really dry cheeks and an oily t-zone and this product worked amazingly on my skin. You can use this on clean skin, or over your moisturizer.

I only use very little for my whole face. Simply pump a pea size amount and dab it to your cheeks, forehead and your jawbone line. Then, smooth it out all over. It's like a little mask that covers your pores, fine lines, and just feels velvety smooth! I let it dry for a minute, and then apply my foundation.

I noticed several things while using this primer:
  • It hides those make up lines (those I get from smiling too much).
  • Foundation looked so much smoother.
  • I rarely have to blot, and when I do, the make up stays put.
  • It doesn't clog my pores.
  • At the end of the night, my foundation still looks amazing (a nice dewy look).
Overall, I don't have any bad things to say about this. It's a great price for the amount that you get, since you only need so little. This has definitely become a daily beauty routine for me!

Do you guys use make up primers?

Review: Smashbox Limitless Beauty Kit

What is it?
"You asked for stay-put products, we’re delivering in one must-have kit. It’s all you’ll need to stay chic from dawn till dusk—no reapplying necessary. Free step-by-step guide."

Retail Price: $39.00

Where to buy: www.smashbox.com

My thoughts and experience:
Photo Finish foundation primer:
This stuff is amazing! All you need is a small pea size amount, less is more in this case. Once I apply the primer on my clean face, I can immediately feel the smoothness and velvety feeling upon touch. It created an invisible layer, and it helped my foundation stay on much longer! I usually have to blot a couple of times a day, but with the primer, I blot once during a whole work shift (usually 8+ hours). It makes my skin appear smoother and also make up application easier. This is definitely something I will use over and over!

Limitless Beauty Eye Shadow Palette & Brush:
I like the different neutral colors offered in this palette. To me, it seems like I could do more night looks than I would with day looks - alot of neutral and smokey eyes, that's for sure. The eyeshadows stayed on without creasing into each other for about 4 hours without primer and over 10 hours with a primer. I mainly used the brush to apply shadow to upper and lower lash lines only because it was such a little brush.

Left to Right -
Matte vanilla: used on brow bone for highlight, color is not pigmented, very light and barely visible.
Rose Copper: used on lid, shimmery and has a metallic effect, pigmented, has slight fall out.
Purple Taupe: used on outer corner, upper and lower lash line, has a slight shimmer, very pigmented.
Champagne: used on lid, shimmery and has a metallic effect, pigmented, has slight fall out.
Matte brown: used on outer corner, upper and lower lash line, matte, very pigmented.

Limitless Eye Liner in Java:
The eyeliner is a smooth, coffee brown color. It goes very well with my brown eyes (with or without eyeshadow). I love that it doesn't smudge and can easily stay on well over 8 hours.

Blush Rush in Everlasting:
A soft, happy pink color. It's a buildable blush color that is easy to blend with a brush. It doesn't look cakey at all and looks very natural. This color is suited for people with light to medium complexions, as it is not very pigmented.

Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in 'Round-the-Clock:
A light pink lip gloss. The wand applicator makes it easy to apply on lips. The formula is not thick, but it is definitely sticky and glossy. I think this is more suited for people with light complexion, as the color doesn't really show up on my lips very much. This goes very well with the palette that is included in the set. It stays on for a good 6 hours without eating/drinking.

Tada!!~
I used all of these products included in the beauty kit to finish this look. I also used foundation, eye primer, and mascara that was not included.

Review: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Correcting Primer - Pink Highlighter

What is it?
In one simple step, this versatile primer color-corrects imperfections, smoothes skin texture, fills in fine lines and boosts makeup's staying power.
Ultra-convenient twist-pen with attached brush applicator allows for easy blending and effortless application.

Retail Price: $10.95

Where to buy: Most drugstore and grocery retail stores, www.physiciansformula.com

My thoughts and experience:
The packaging of this product is very informative. It has alot of info on the back letting you know the benefits. The correcting primer has a little brush on the end; you twist the top part to get product out. From my experience, you should only twist twice. Any more and it will be too much. I used the brush to dot a couple of areas on my face. Then I used my fingers to even the primer out. I didn't use the brush to even it out because it was kind of streaky looking. It was so much smoother with fingers.

The formula is on the thicker side. Applying primer is like adding a second layer of skin before make up. Because it is thicker, it does feel a little heavier.

Some things that I like about this primer is that it contains SPF 15,  it absorbs quickly, and it does brighten the face. This primer helped smooth out some of the bumpy parts of my face to make it easier to apply make up, too.

Things I do not like about it is that I am finding that it leaves a pink undertone on my face if you wear the product alone. It also can get really messy when you are trying to get product to come out. I find that it boosted make up staying power by an extra 2-3 hours. Because the product comes out of the brush, some left overs are also dried on there.

Here's the before and after applying primer picture -

Overall, I really loved the idea of this product, but I'm not sure this is something I will purchase. I might try the nude or green color in the future to see if they work better for me.

Have you tried any of Physicians Formula's correcting primers? What do you think?
